Did you know I’m shy?

I wrote a post on Susan Cain’s blog,

“Quiet: The Power of Introverts”. I wrote about managing a media career as a shy, introverted person.

So, how does that work?  Read about it here

  1. I always thought YOU were the leader, and I here I read that you were just hanging on my perky coat-tails. Cheers!

  2. I, too, am introverted around strangers and am usually in the kitchen with the hostess of the party. Convincing my family and friends that I am introverted (they don’t think so) is sometimes more difficult than the social situation itself. But, I love your suggestions, Jane, and will keep them in mind the next time I’m in a new situation. By the way, my husband can talk to an ashtray!

  3. I, too, am an INTJ and a very good fake extrovert. I am in a very public position within my company and am expected to give many speeches/public appearances. When it’s all over being extroverted sucks the life out of me and I can’t wait to retreat back into my office. The good news is that INTJs can do this and be very successful. You know your limits and where you get your strength- sometimes that’s all we can ask for. Thanks for the blog; I’ve been a long time listener and Jane lover and now I know why.

Thanks for the kind words! I’m so glad you commented, since I had a particularly crowd-filled day today and so, I went back and re-read the post. I should have read it this morning!!
